AI writes a good first draft. It shouldn't get the last word.
A clean paragraph can still be a non-compliant one. The risk is not that the sentence sounds bad. The risk is that it no longer says the thing you approved.
Five quiet edits
- A “shall” becomes “we intend to” or “we will strive to.”
- A date, a headcount, or a response time changes by a small amount that still fails the requirement.
- A certification appears that nobody on the team holds.
- A page-limited section loses the sentence that answered Section L and keeps the sentence that sounded better.
- An amendment updated the PWS, and the draft still answers the paragraph from the base solicitation.
What to do with the next draft
Keep the excerpt from when you closed the row. Upload the new file as the next version. If that draft changes the text, the row reopens for re-review and History keeps who closed it. Read the difference. Pass closes the row again only if the new sentence still meets the requirement.
That review is the product. The model that wrote the draft is not asked for a second opinion.
